Most people think that money or wealth accumulation is about earning more and spending less. It is true in mathematic or in science equations. But the universe is more than just mathematics and science. There are many successful people gain wealth without using these equations. They have proven being generous with money will cause money to be generous with them.

I’m going to use $100 as an example. Most people think that when they give away $100, they will lose $100 from their pocket. It’s not about investing or borrowing. What I mean here is actually giving away without conditions or expectations. Do you think you will lose $100 from your pocket?

The simple equation will show you ‘Yes’. You will lose $100 when you give away $100. Simple calculation $100 - $100 = $0. However, mathematic calculation didn’t show you this:

You might give away this $100 by buying 100 very special gifts to 100 customers. 100 customers are happy and 50 became your loyal customers. 50 loyal customers might bring you $100 profits every month which gives you a $5000 per month profit extra. If they are loyal for 10 years, you’ll get $50,000 by giving $100.

It doesn’t stops there. What if 10 out of the customers spread their satisfaction to others and bring in another 100 customers? It goes on and on. It’s unpredictable, can’t be calculated and can’t be expected but it definitely impacts the company largely.

There’s a saying “Don’t Calculate Things To Death. Things are created by people and people can never be calculated or measure.”

I have a friend who did a very good job in his business with generosity. He sells his batteries at the same price with his competitors. After he paid all the expenses of the company, he took out part of the profit from the batteries he sold and distribute it to 3 parties.

He used one third of the money to reward and thank his customers. He used another one third of the money to thank his supplier. He used the last one third to reward the workers who contributed to this business. What he got after few years later?

Customers are happy to buy from him. He got loyal customers who pay him on time and rely on him even his competitors are selling with cost. Suppliers are happy and excite to do business with him. He got very low price, fast delivery and trust from them. Workers are having fun and joyful when they are working. They are more effective and hardworking in their job.

Generous don’t cause you to lose something. It will only generate more for others and you.
