How To Think Positive And Stop Thinking Negative?
“What if I am born to fail in life? Doing anything will not make me success.”
“What if I get myself into serious debts?”
“What if I lose all my money and wasted all my time?”
If this sounds anything familiar to you, the next will be very important to you as well.
Our brain, as long as we are human being are used to expect the worst thing that can happen. It haven’t happen but it is already as real as the truth or future we will get.
Why will it happen in this way? Why our brain are designed like this?
Let me share with you an interesting story…
This is predicted according to some facts and evidence!
Many billion years ago before humans are evolved, there are only one kind of living creature on earth. The billion kinds of creatures we know today all started from one simple ancestor. Slowly evolution take place and it evolves into many complex creature.
The evolution is actually a process of random mutation in their genetic code. The mutations that aid the creature SURVIVE will continue living. Those that became worst will die naturally. This also means creatures that can’t suit themselves to the environment will die by natural disaster or eaten/killed by other creatures.
So, creatures that are still living today are evolved to SURVIVE in this world. We human beings are evolved that way too and One Of The Surviving Genetic Code Is EXPECTING THE WORST SITUATION!
Expecting the worst situation is one of the gene that keeps us alive. If you saw a tiger, will you positive think the situation and say “The tiger is staring at me. It definitely loves me. It will lick me and play with me.” That’s a crazy positive thinking. Don’t you think so? Normally, we will expect the worst that the tiger is going to eat us up so we hide. Hence, we survive.
This gene is perfect when it comes to helps us Survive but not Success.
If we are expecting the worst every moment, we will end up like that:
When we start a business, we will expect we fail, get into huge debts and maybe get caught into jail. When we get into relationship, we will expect it to fail, break up or affairs will happen. Yes, we survive by expecting the worst. We cut off business and relationships to avoid getting hurt. But we won’t be able to success in either business or relationship by cutting them off.
This surviving gene will drives us crazy, stressful, depressed or frustrated in life. Here’s one of my experience in Internet Marketing Business:
In the first year of my internet marketing, I already expect it is going to fail even though I love to have it success. Internet marketing is really my hobby and passion. I really want to success in this business but I expected it will fail.
So, when I expect it to fail. I take all the action that are align with my expectation. I am preparing my next job after I fail. I don’t pay for any online services even my domain name, web hosting, autoresponder or ebooks. So that I can minimize my financial lost when I fail. As an addition to that, I’m not going to commit a lot of time and effort because I’m going to fail anyway.
When you read what I did, you will realize I’m either preparing myself not to fail too hard or what to survive after I fail. To put it more precise, I’m preparing myself to fail and what to do when I fail.
So, will a person who lack of all the important internet tools, being not committed and waiting for failure success in internet marketing? The answer is obvious and I actually fail without knowing how I fail until I learn how to think positive and stop thinking negative.
Another point I would like to make is if you are practicing “the secret” or law of attraction, this is crucial for your success. Expecting is also imagining or visualizing in your head. Expecting the worst will immediately form an image in your mind without you knowing. And then, you attract it to you.
How to think positive and stop thinking negative?
I’m just going to introduce 5 steps because people will forget or not practice if it’s too complicated. (Yeah! This is my expectation of the worst.)
1. Create A DREAM You Want and Focus On It
Bob Proctor mentioned in this free Attraction Accelerator Report “Most people are not going after what they want. Even some of the most serious goal seekers and goal setters, they are going after what they think they can get.”
When you are going after the dream you want, you will be very excited to have that happen. You won’t expect the worst situation of your dream because you are too excited and just focusing on how good it is to have that. You will try everything to achieve it and your focus shifted away from the negative thoughts.
If every area of your life are excited and what you want, you will not have time to think negative. All the time in your life is just excitement, fulfillment and inspirations.
2. A Mentor
When you have a mentor, he will train you how to speak, act and think like a successful man. He will know when you are sucked into the “negative black hole” and know how to pull you out. This is the most important step after having a dream you want. He himself is also a role model of positive thinking who you can follow.
3. Successful Environment
There’s a saying by some of the most successful people “Your income is the average income of the 5 people you spent most time being with.” A positive environment will not tolerate negativity. Let’s visualize you are having a meeting with 5 very positive people. You’ll notice each time you brought up a negative opinion, you’ll either shut up or your speaking will be changed by yourself or those 5 positive people.
A positive thinking environment will not tolerate any negative thinking.
4. Gratitude
In “The Secret“, you’ve probably heard of gratitude. Gratitude is an attitude. It impacts the way you think, speak and act into a positive manner. Normally people are focusing on what they don’t have or what they think they will lose:
“I don’t have a hot and sexy body.”
“I don’t have enough money.”
“I don’t have good speaking skills.”
or
“What if I lose my job?”
“What if I lose my spouse and children?”
This is the normal way of thinking. If you are living you life like this, it’s very negative. All your life will be just about dissatisfactions of lacking and fear of losing. If you are practicing gratitude, you’ll will have all these thoughts:
“I am happy and grateful to live.”
“I am happy and grateful to have a job and a meal in front of my table.”
“I am happy and grateful to have this and that. What else can I create for my life and other people.”
This is a very positive and powerful thought that disappears your negative thoughts immediately and you are able to influence people around you.
5. Take out a piece of paper
When you are thinking negative, take out a piece of paper and pen. Answer the following question:
Question 1: What is your concern that make you feel negative? (It might be a concern that you’ll lose money or someone in your life. Just write it down to make it clear.)
Question 2: What happen that cause you having the concern? (You won’t have concern out of a sudden. What happen that make you start to concern? Probably you are not making sales that cause you concern about your business or your spouse just had an argument with you that cause you concern about the marriage.)
**After answering your question 2, cross out the answer of the question 1 because that is your expectation of the worst situation that might happen from question 2. Those are illusions that make you get stuck in your own negative thoughts.
Question 3: How to handle or deal with the answer in question 2? (Once you disappear your concern, this question bring you to think positively and move on. You are no longer stuck.)
After answering these 3 question, your negative thoughts will be gone and you’ll realize that you are already in a positive mindset.
